Build This Plan

Send us the plan. We will tell you what it takes to build it.

It does not have to be one of ours. Send a plan from any site, or a screenshot, or a sketch on a napkin, along with where the lot is. You get back a written review of what that plan actually needs in your county.

Ask for a review

A few minutes. A person writes back within two business days.

1You

For your review, and for a pro only after you confirm them.

2The lot

With a ZIP, pros anywhere in the US are matched by their distance to the lot; without one, by distance to the county seat. Building somewhere else? The ZIP is how we find them.

The single biggest factor in how real a build is.

3The build

A link, a plan number, or just describe it. Pros on your list read this, so leave out your name and address.

Introductions

Leave the box unticked and we only send you the names, so you can call them yourself. Brixton Development, affiliated with the site, may be one of the builders shown, on the same terms as every other builder on the list.

What comes back

  1. 01

    What the foundation really needs

Whether your soil needs an engineered slab, whether you need a geotechnical report, and whether the plan you are looking at already has that detail or will need engineering added.

  2. 02

    What your county actually checks

Who issues the permit, what gets reviewed, what does not, and whether anyone will look at your structural drawings before you pour.

  3. 03

What new homes are permitted at in your county

The average value of new single family homes permitted in your county, from the Census Bureau, so you can see where your plan sits. Your builder prices the plan itself.

  4. 04

Builders, where they cover your lot

Where builders on the site cover your lot, their names, plus pool, interior and landscape pros if you ask and one works there. Tick the box and they can see your project and ask to meet you; each one gets your name and number only after you say yes by email. Or take the names and call them yourself. Nobody covering it yet? Ask us to email you when one joins.

Why free: a build review is information, not a price. We cannot quote a build before the plan is measured and the windows are priced, so we do not pretend to. What we can tell you is what the job involves, which is the part nobody answers honestly before you have already spent money on drawings.
