Build This Plan

What you are actually buying

A license to use a designer's drawings, not ownership of the design. That is true here and it is true at every plan site in the country. The designer keeps the copyright.

What a single build license lets you do

  • Build one house, at one address.
  • Modify it through licensed professionals to meet your local code.
  • Give copies to your builder, your engineer and the permit office for that project.
  • Rebuild at the same address if the house is destroyed.
  • Sell the finished house like any other property.

What it does not

  • Build it a second time.
  • Resell, share or give away the files.
  • Claim the design as your own.
  • Strip the copyright notice from the drawings.

Two things we do differently

Every delivered set is stamped with the buyer's name and the license they bought. It is a deterrent, and if enforcement is ever needed it is the evidence.

Every order is recorded with the plan, the license and the address on file, so there is never a question about what you hold. Your account lists every plan bought with your email, the license it is under and its license number, and lets you download the stamped set again.

All sales are final once the files are released, which is standard across the industry and is a function of the files being copyable. Before you buy, read what a stock plan does not include, because that is where the real cost sits.
