How introductions to builders work

How do introductions to builders work on Build This Plan?

Only with your yes, one pro at a time. If you tick the introductions box on the build review, the pros on your list see your project (where, the plan, budget and timeline) but never your name, email or phone. When one asks to be introduced, we email you their name and you confirm or decline. Only a pro you confirm gets your details. A request you do not answer lapses after 14 days, and every email has a link to turn contact off.

Who is on your list

The builders listed for your county, plus every approved builder whose service area covers your lot, matched by distance from their own business. If you ask for a pool builder, an interior designer or landscape, the approved ones whose area covers the lot are added. [3]

Builders list free, anywhere in the US. Nobody pays for a place on a list, and nobody bids on your project. [3] A builder may pay the site a fee when you accept its introduction; that never changes what it sees or when. [2]

If no builder on the site covers your lot, the form says so and does not offer the introductions box. You can ask to be emailed when one joins; that email asks you first, and nothing is shown to any builder until you press yes on the page it links to.

A builder affiliated with Build This Plan is marked wherever it is listed and follows exactly the same rules: your details reach it only after you say yes. [1] [2]

Saying yes or no

The email has a link to a page with two buttons. Opening the link does nothing on its own, so a mail scanner cannot answer for you. Yes sends that one pro your name, email and phone. No removes the request from their dashboard. Nobody else hears either way. [2]

A request you have not answered lapses after 14 days, and an old link cannot reopen it.

Turning contact off

Every email about your project carries a link that turns contact off for your address. Your project then shows as withdrawn to the pros, and no new introductions are asked for. The link does not expire. [2]

You can also skip introductions entirely: leave the box unticked and call the builders on your list yourself.

Short answers

Do builders get my phone number when I submit a build review?
No. They see where you are building, the plan, budget and timeline. Your name, email and phone go only to a pro you confirm.
How long does an introduction request last?
14 days. After that it lapses and cannot be answered.
